Ana B'Koach

Seven steps for connecting with the Divine Light

The seven lines of this sacred Kabbalistic prayer correspond to the seven lower Sefirot of the Tree of Life and to the seven days of the week.

Beginning with Chesed — the energy of unconditional love and mercy — we symbolically draw the Light from the higher spiritual worlds and conduct it through the seven Sefirot until it reaches Malchut, our physical world.

Each line carries its own unique spiritual force. When we reach the line of today's day, we direct our intention toward its energy and its angelic support. And through the line connected with the present Kabbalistic month, we focus on the lessons and the correction of the soul — our Tikun.

In this way the prayer becomes a bridge between the spiritual and the material world — an opportunity not simply to receive the Light, but consciously to manifest it in our lives.
